Note: The immediate source of this woodcut was an unidentified artist's autograph illustration to the Vita D[omi]ni N[ost]ri Jesu Christi […] Sinarum Imperatori transmissa à Maximiliano […] utrusq. Bauvaria Duce (Life of Our Lord Jesus Christ transmitted to the Emperor and Monarch of the Chinese by Maximilian Duke of the two Bavarias), a manuscript composed in Augsburg in 1617 and now lost. This autograph illustration was based on the corresponding print. See Standaert 2006.
