This inscription is more closely related to the corresponding inscription in the Alma de un condenado en el infierno at the Convento de la Merced del Cusco (PESSCA 5509B) than either one of them is to the published poem (PESSCA 5497A). Thus, like the inscription in the Mercedarian painting (and unlike the published poem), this inscription has A[QU]ESTE TERRIBLE (rather than LA EMBIDIA Y SU ATROZ) in the first verse; and DE ESTE (rather than DEL) in the seventh verse.
