Note
There are other close versions of the proposed source (PESSCA 6200A). Aside from the original by Wierix, there is one by Hendrick van Schoel (1590-1627) and, possibly, another one engraved by Jean Matheus (active between 1614 and 1625) and published in Paris by Jean Messager (1610-1654) (I have not seen the latter) . Here I chose the Regnard version, since the series it comes from is the only one I know of that contains the image of the Holy Stems, which was painted in the same series as this Death of the Virgin.
