Medium: Engraving. After the 1628-1632 oil painting by Jacob Jordaens I (1593-1678) at Stonyhurst College, Blackburn, Lancashire, itself after a lost design by Peter Paul Rubens (1577-1640). An oil sketch in chiaroscuro in the Herman de Neyt collection might have been the modello for the engraving (cf. Rome 1977, cat. 16).
