Note
There is a painting by José de Alcíbar which seems to be based on this painting by Ibarra. It is true that the composition of Alcíbar inverts that of Ibarra (and its print source). But the architectonic background of the Alcíbar painting is taken from Ibarra (or its print source) and not, for example, from PESSCA 4896A (an engraving that depicts the same theme—and in the same direction—as the Alcíbar painting). As to the posture of Christ in the Alcíbar painting, it comes neither from Ibarra nor from PESSCA 4896A, so it does not discriminate between the two sources. It rather seems to be something that Alcíbar either invented or took from depictions of Christ at the column (or of Christ gathering his clothes after the flagellation).
